Nearly 200 houses damaged by strong winds

The Disaster Management Center (DMC) today said that a total of 198 houses were partially damaged by strong winds experienced in Badulla, Monaragala, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts in the island.
Assistant Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili stated that reports of 8 houses being completely destroyed due to strong winds were received in the past three days.
He said that the DMC has commenced providing relief services to affected people.
