12-hour water cut on July 14 in several areas of Colombo

A 12-hour water cut will be imposed in certain areas of Colombo on July 14 as new pipelines will be installed in the city as part of the Greater Colombo Water Supply Rehabilitation project, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board stated.
The water cut will be imposed from 8pm on July 14 to 8am on July 15, the Water Board stated.
The areas affected by the water cut are as follows; Panchikawatta Road, Maligawatta housing scheme area, Mihindu Mawatha, Akbar Lane, Sebastian Street, Hultsdorf area, Maharoof Water tower area, Sangharaja Mawatha, Elphinstone theatre junction to Jethavana road and Miraniya street.
Meanwhile, due to essential repair work on the pipeline between Maharagama and Pannipitiya, several areas will experience an 18-hour water cut on July 14 from 9am to 3am on July 15.
These areas include Pannipitiya, Rukmalgama, Mattegoda, Palanwatta, Kesbewa and the main road and byroads from Piliyandala to Boralesgamuwa.
